The author will continue to use this blog site to publish political articles. Anybody who wishes to make comments, including opponents of my party, are welcome to do so. You are requested to keep your comments polite. I will respond to comments as often as I can. Although articles and comments are likely to be within the Conservative Party line, some of them may not necessarily represent official party policy. Official Party policy can be found on the Conservative Party’s main website at http://www.conservatives.com/Policy.aspx. Where Government power is devolved, the policies you find on that website will apply to England only.
Those policies may be subject to regional variation in different parts of the United Kingdom. in relation to Northern Ireland. For example, our policy on Education is slightly different in England to Northern Irleand because the circumstances are different. At the moment, specific policy for Northern Ireland in relation to devolved matters are “work in progress”. That is being developed with the Ulster Unionist Party. As and when th0se policies are published, I will provide a link to them.
One policy area where our position is clear is in relation to Education. We completely support academic selection and the retention of the Grammar School system in Northern Ireland.
